These days short films are in trend because anyone can watch them in their busy schedule.With the development of technology and easy access to internet anyone can make short films/videos very easily with there smartphone and this process is called mobile film making. Now days smartphones has every thing that you need to make a short film such as good camera , microphone , video editing software/app etc. 


How to make film using mobile ?

Everyone these days know the basics like how to record and edit but people usually avoid 
some important factors that  can take your  film to another level.These factors are lighting,camera positions,sounds/music,background/location,script and acting.


Lighting 



For recording a video, lighting plays an important role. always try to record in a well lit space because our smartphone's camera records clear video in good lighting conditions. In darker conditions you will get noise/blurriness in your video. There is no need to buy professional lighting , try to record the video in sunlight it is best for mobile filming.If you are using  artificial lights use bright yellow lights it will give good picture quality 

Camera Positions

Camera positions can take your videos to another level.  you can position the camera to focus any specific scene like if  you want your viewers to focus on the hand movement of an actor then you will take his hand in the frame and not include his face. Sound/Music

You can add the extra touch in your film with sound effect and music. This will complement the visuals in the film. Music will help your viewers to understand the actor's feelings.
slow(speed/pace) music is usually emotional and used for sad/emotional moments whereas loud and fast music is used in depicting happiness.you can also add sound effects in small quantity.

               Background/Location

Choosing an appropriate background will help your viewers to understand the situation well . you can use a green screen for changing the background . little changes to your existing furniture can also make a big difference like table and chairs can give the vibe of a dining room .changing the background will  indicate the scene change  .    

Script and Acting

The most important things in a short film is script and acting. If your story/script and acting is not satisfying then all other things mentioned above are just a waste of time.Try to give a lot of time to your script because it is the basis of your short film, taking help  from others and  brainstorming together will be great. You should also focus on your/actor's acting as it will add soul to the script. At least do rehearsals 5 times before shooting and record the last rehearsal to identify any technical mistakes.
